Document- and Knowledge Management
Oracle Content DB builds up clearly structured document files, which can be accessed easily and specifically from web portals: any time and from any place in the world! The solution is flexibly upgradeable up to a complete Knowledge Management System. The access is controlled via sophisticated authorization concepts, which also fulfill the requirements of cross-company use. Oracle Content DB supports all common multi-media document types: text, E-Mails, graphics, pictures, videos, sound, HTML, and others. An essential advantage of Oracle Content DB is the possibility to automate and standardize routines, e.g. automatic news E-Mails or batch-oriented up- and download routines. The automation can be realized very elegantly in interaction with Oracle BPEL Process Manager. With that work flow-based review-, authorization- and editorial processes can be realized or also the connection of multi-media applications, such as scanners, OCR-Systems or filing solutions.

Web Content Management
In connection with Oracle Portal and Oracle Drive Oracle Content DB enables for an end-user suitable Content Management for creating and maintaining web portals. Editorial Workflows – which come in with standard delivery – can be customized with Oracle BPEL to customer-specific requirements.

Content Lifecycle Management
By integrating Oracle Records Management the entire Content life-cycle is supported extensively. Legal restraints and regulations (Basel II, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, SEC ...) or approved guidelines (GLP etc.) can therefore be fulfilled easily. By managing guidelines, instructions and testing regulations Content Management Solutions become an elementary component for Quality- and Risk Management Systems.

Integration with Oracle E-Business Suite
High efficiency of a Content Management Solution can then be achieved when the product is integrated with the Business Management Standard Software used in the company. PROMATIS developed such integration for the Oracle E-Business Suite. Here the documents, such as orders, assigned to the E-Business Suite filed and provided in Content DB. Documents generated in the E-Business Suite, e. g. delivery notes, or invoices, and reports are treated analogue. The advantage: documents can be filed easier and made available for manifold searches. And publications in portals can be done as well directly and without any difficulty.
