The PROMATIS Middleware Component (PMC) Workflow Management extends the Standard-Oracle database features Workflow and Advanced Queuing (AQ) to a complete Workflow Management System: In Automating and steering processes as well as Monitoring no wishes are unfulfilled. The Workflow Management System provides for selective and task-specific knowledge, applications and documents – at the right time and any place in the world. Also belonging hereto are the implementation and ongoing enforcement of business rules, comprehensive escalation-, reminder- and substitution-concepts.
A special feature of the Workflow Solution is the integration of different applications, which is realized with the Adaptor-Framework, based on Oracle Integration Technologies, especially Oracle InterConnect.
In the framework of a service-oriented architecture (SOA) the PMC Workflow Management builds up on the Oracle standard product BPEL. With it, the Web Services can be orchestrated to persistent Business Processes – of course with the involvement of Web Services, which are obtained from external sources.
