With a real investment into the future, the Wuerzburger Versicherungs-AG, a German Special Insurance Carrier, improves their customer service and the internal business processes. During a thorough selection process, having focused not only on functional, but also on commercial and technical aspects, the Wuerzburger Insurance chose the PROMATIS software GmbH from Ettlingen as their project partner. The core of the PROMATIS solution is established by the Oracle E-Business Suite ‚Special Edition' for mid-sized businesses, in conjunction with the Oracle Collaboration Suite and the think Collaboration Services!
At the Oracle Community CeBIT 2004 booth of the German Oracle User Group DOAG, the agreement between the Wuerzburger Insurance and PROMATIS was signed. Oliver Rentrop from Oracle, responsible for the mid-sized market business at Oracle Germany, was also present during the signing. "With a planned project duration of less than 4 months, we have aimed towards an ambitious implementation target", said Thomas Ritter, IT-Manager of the Wuerzburger Insurance. "However, with PROMATIS we found an experienced implementation partner, whom we trust, and who guaranteed us to achieve this aim", stated Mr. Ritter.
Ritter furthermore states: "Our primary project target was the implementation of a solution for the financial accounting, and the integration of this solution with our inventory management system. The decision for the Special Edition of the Oracle E-Business Suite has been made primarily because of the short and guaranteed implementation time and the moderate investment cost. Furthermore, the Oracle solution convinced us because of its superior architecture and its perfect workflow-functionality - both aspects that promise scalability and adaptability. It is also important for us that the Linux platform, suggested by PROMATIS, will enable us to realize a cost-effective security concept with several Blade servers."
Within a first project step that has already been completed, the Oracle Collaboration Suite and the PROMATIS products think Workflow Manager! and think Content Manager! were also implemented. These products make sure that a return on investment can already be achieved during the project. For Mr. Ritter, the extension of the project was a logical consequence: "After a detailed analysis of the proposed product portfolio, it became obvious that an expansion of the business management solution with database-based messaging, scheduling, workflow and document management would substantially increase its value, and would be a quantum leap towards our ideal of a paperless office."
