Thomas Fricke of Oracle Germany introduced the new Release. Given that in the future all components of Fusion Applications by Oracle will be equipped with XML Publisher this was the topic par excellence for many participants.
With which problems an Oracle Applications customer is confronted, was pointed out by Matthias Forkel of Prodinger Verpackung in his recitation „User-experience in implementing the E-Business Suite in a mid-sized wholesale enterprise“. But he also highlighted the efficiency and resumed that he had chosen the dead right system.
News-breaking announcement of the day: „Applications unlimited“. Wolfgang Scherrer, EOUC Vice Chair, surprised the participants with these news. The information that in time to-be all applications of the Oracle Fusion Middleware will remain available in Releases, provided for discussions among the participants at the SIG Day. Dr. Frank Schoenthaler, speaker of the Special Interest Group E-Business Suite and promoter of the SIG Days absolutely acclaimed Oracle’s decision. „This relieves the tremendous migration pressure on users“, so Schoenthaler. „If now Fusion Middleware is integrated quickly into all Product lines efficiently for the customer, a later change-over into Fusion Middleware will only be a small step.” Schoenthaler is confident, that this will pay off for users.
There was also new information on Collaboration- and Content Management-Solutions for the E-Business Suite. Thomas Karle, PROMATIS software GmbH, illustrated in his recitation, how collaborative Business Models can be realized with the E-Business Suite. Collaboration hereby is seen by means of cooperation and team-work between all business partners with the purpose of a common added value. The collaboration however is not limited to businesses but also takes place along the entire value chain, also in public administration and research or organizations. In all cases it is tangent to many interest groups, which rate the efficiency differently based on their value- and purpose-system. Since most businesses nowadays use capable economical application software in many divisions, Thomas Karle sees a first solution idea in making that software available to all partners of the collaboration, and thereby expands its application area beyond company boarders. „Unfortunately most conventional Business Software Packages hereby hit their application limitations”, so Karle. He sees the solution in completely web-based software, which can be used in both intranet and internet as well and thereby fulfills highest requirements in safety, user-comfort and performance. PROMATIS – as one of Europe’s leading implementation partners – has been using the Oracle E-Business Suite since years to realize such collaborative Business Processes. A server-centered architecture, in which only a conventional web browser has to be installed at the workplace, ensures thereby the fulfillment of all requirements.
The speech given by Ivan Matvienko of Open Technologies, Moscow, also dealt with an interesting topic. He informed about the implementation of ERP in a Russian telephone company. Christian Mueller of KAZ Hausgeräte GmbH, talked about the implementation and the European-wide Rollout of an Oracle E-Business Suite-Solution. Here, the Oracle E-Business Suite showed its high capability. New perspectives regarding the Release 12 of the Oracle E-Business Suite were shown by Michael Huchler of Oracle EMEA in his recital. Of special interest were the significantly improved user interface and the innovations of the Finance and Accounting Modules.
The Special Interest Group Day by DOAG SIG Oracle E-Business Suite brought much news for the participants and ended with a lot of positive resonance.
