.NET and Open Source: Oracle in Foreign Fields

PROMATIS also supports Microsoft- and Open Source-Customers in the Oracle Development

Today customers have the free choice when is comes to the development of Oracle application software: Besides the proven Oracle application architecture, Microsoft .NET and Open Source-environments are comfortably supported. PROMATIS recommends itself here as well as competent consulting- and solution-partner.

.NET and Oracle
The key to efficient .NET-developments is delivered by Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET, which opens the world of Oracle data-bases to the .NET-Developer. In Visual Studio .NET an Add-in is installed, which allows access to the Oracle data-base schema, schema objects can be generated and modified. By Drag & Drop objects are inserted into program modules and automatically an appropriate code is generated. Besides that, there is a PL/SQL-Editor, and by Oracle Data Window data can be inserted directly into the Visual Studio environment and can be modified, or Stores Procedures can be tested.

PHP and Oracle
However, not only Microsoft-developers get to enjoy a strongly improved Oracle support. Oracle also reacts to market-demands for Open Source technologies. The initiation was triggered by the Oracle Application Server, on which PHP-Scripts can be performed very efficiently. Because when it comes to programming dynamic Web pages, the script- and object-oriented development-language PHP more and more becomes first choice. Oracle JDeveloper 10g PHP Extension offers full functionality to the PHP-Developer for constructing, modifying and running PHP-Scripts in the Oracle JDeveloper environment. By these means, the developer can flexibly combine PHP with other languages supported by JDeveloper, such as HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, SQL and PL/SQL.
